Comforting the Grieving

2 Cor. 1:3-7

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God. For as we share abundantly in Christ’s sufferings, so through Christ we share abundantly in comfort too.[a] If we are afflicted, it is for your comfort and salvation; and if we are comforted, it is for your comfort, which you experience when you patiently endure the same sufferings that we suffer. Our hope for you is unshaken, for we know that as you share in our sufferings, you will also share in our comfort.”

Currently we are partnering with the ministry “While We’re Waiting” as facilitators of a bereaved parent support group that meets weekly. While We’re Waiting Grieving Parents support-groups callendar.

When we hear of a local family losing a child / student, we reach out to provide love, empathy, encouragement, and share the hope we have in Jesus. Our goal is to come alongside churches and schools to help minister during this time of grief.

In the future, our vision is to partner with LeBonheur and St Jude hospitals to provide a weekend retreat for families receiving treatments and extended care. These retreats will be on our 14 acre property we call Michael’s Hope Refuge, where we plan to build a house to accommodate this ministry. Through this opportunity to connect with these families, we will encourage them through the difficult trial they are facing and share the hope and peace we have in Jesus.

If you have experienced the loss of a child, view our calendar for the dates of our Grieving Parents Support Group “While We’re Waiting”. You can make a donation, volunteer for one of our events or contact us if you have questions.
